* Jinnamje Festival authorized
Jinnamje Festival means the revival and the relighting of the people's lives in Jeulla-Jwasuyoung (the naval headquarter of the left part of Jeulla Province) during Imjin war. Imjin war was took place by the invasion of Japan to Korea in 1592 and ended in 1598. During the war, the people in Jeulla-Jwasuyoung camp made Turtle ships; warships and many other weapons and built many castles without national aid. They cultivated broad fields for providing soldiers with grains. Jinnamje Festival is held to admire the faithful spirit of Admiral Yi Sun Shin, to revive the folk's tradition and to preserve unique cultural assets. @ The brief history of the Jinnamje festival. 1967. 5. 5 : Mayor, Jeung Young-Bae declared the opening ceremony of Jinnamje Festival in Yosu city. 1979. 3. 30 : Jinnamje Festival was authorized by The Minister of Culture and Communication. 鎭南祭は 文祿慶長の役の當時 全羅左道水軍節度營(全羅左水營)の 營民達の 陣中生活と 活動狀況を 再現 および 再照明する 祝祭である. 1592年4月13日に 日本軍15萬が 釜山港へ 上陸してから 6年9個月 間 全羅左水營 營民達が 李忠武公の 指揮下で みずから 龜船, 兵器, 食糧を 自給自足しながら 石城を 築造した. 鎭南祭は 李忠武公と 營民たちの 忠節を 追慕するために

鎭南祭在壬辰倭亂當時,全羅左道水軍節度營(全羅左水營)把營民們的陣中生活和活動狀況再度出現或者再度硏究的節慶. 1592年4月13日,15萬日本軍在釜山港上陸開始,6年9月全羅左水營的營民們在李忠武公指揮下自動把龜船,兵器,食糧自給自足的建造了石城.
鎭南祭是爲了忠貞追慕李忠武公和營民們的當時生活,昇華到今天的傳統民俗節慶.
